Mia had a standard website that gave general information but lacked inspirational design. The website needed to be clear and informative while also being visually aligned with the vibrancy of her work and personality. Mia needed a brand framework that aligned with but was distinct from Next River’s aesthetic. As Mia continues to gain greater visibility and encounter new audiences, she needed a brand identity and website that clearly communicated her work and her vision to those new audiences.
Mia Birdsong is a pathfinder and futurist who reconnects us with our forgotten wisdom and practices of our collective liberation. Mia is the founding Executive Director of Next River, an institute for practicing the future, the author of How We Show Up, and the creator of More Than Enough, a four-part podcast from The Nation. As a cultural thought leader, Mia needed to sharpen her online presence in order to expand her credibility and digital reach.
The first step to building Mia’s brand was to develop her verbal and visual identities.
Our team worked with Mia to create a personal mission and vision statement, and to develop her brand values. We also teased out specifics for Mia’s audience segments and collaborated on a succinct tagline.
Once we had the words, we moved on to the visuals. Our design team created a dazzling mood board for her that set the tone for the design elements we used in her color palette, typography and iconography.
Once Mia felt confident that her branding framework successfully reflected her work, we created wireframes and a sitemap for her new website!
